Our Proud Histories
Between 1969 and 1970, Dakota County Technical College and Inver Hills Community College were founded in Dakota County, Minnesota. Located just eight-miles apart, the schools were established to meet unique educational needs in the growing suburbs east of the Twin Cities Metro. To celebrate their two proud histories and highlight the move toward a unified structure, this website highlights the missions of each college, their accomplishments, and our shared bold future.
DCTC and Inver Hills Celebrate 50 Years
As DCTC and Inver Hills prepare for the next 50 years, the colleges will continue to build on our proud histories of innovative, high-quality learning and service. DCTC and Inver Hills will continue to operate as separate, aligned colleges with two distinct missions, but recognize that our future successes are shared. We have many opportunities to work together to enhance our missions and affirm our place as the colleges of choice for our students and communities.
